Across the street is a city park and on the other side of the park sits the historic Art Deco county courthouse. Monarch Ski Resort is just a 20 minute drive from the house. During the summer there is the Aspen Concert Series where you can enjoy some of the country’s top musicians.
Salida is known for it’s pleasant weather year round, it has the four seasons that are never too extreme.
From Denver Salida is about a 2.5 to 3 hour drive, from Colorado Springs about 1.75 hours.

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Salida and the Heister House was one of the most interesting homes we have ever stayed in. It is truly a walk back in time, reminiscent of maybe your grandparents’ home and furniture. The home is very comfortable and bigger than it seems. The basement part of the home has a very comfortable tv viewing area and was very cool in the evenings. We would recommend this home and would certainly rent it again should we venture back to the mountains!”
